Century Savings Bank was founded as a community bank over 140 years ago in Bridgeton, NJ. Today, it operates a network of six branches throughout southern New Jersey with locations in Bridgeton, Elmer, Mullica Hill, Gibbstown and Vineland and has approximately $255 million in assets. The organization remains committed to Community Banking Plus - a pledge to providing better products, superior customer service and commitment to the community.
As Century Savings Bank grows, we recognize our increasing impact on, and responsibility to, the communities we serve. Working to improve the social and economic health of our communities has long been a core value for Century. Today, that philosophy takes on more significance than ever.
In 2008, Century gave direct financial support to well over 100 different organizations representing a wide range of programs and services. Our main areas of focus are: education, health and human services, youth initiatives, economic and civic development, and arts and culture. As with our banking decisions, most of our philanthropy is delivered locally. Century Savings Bank employees also support the Bank' s commitment to community through numerous volunteering efforts.
South Jersey Healthcare Foundation, the fundraising entity of South Jersey Healthcare, hosted its 7th annual Fashion Show and Fair, helping to raise needed funds to improve the state of healthcare in Southern New Jersey. Century Savings Bank was the presenting sponsor for the second year in a row, contributing $5,000 to the Foundation.
Access to higher education is a vital asset to the communities in which Century Savings Bank serves. Century Savings Bank supports the Cumberland County College Foundation School Counts! Program. School Counts! encourages students to make the most of their high school years and acquire the learning habits they will need to succeed in the new millennium. Century Savings Bank is a Sterling Silver sponsor of the Cumberland County College Foundation. In addition, Century Savings Bank makes annual scholarship donations to Gloucester County College, Salem Community College and Cumberland County College.

All proceeds benefit the ARC of Cumberland County' s programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Century Savings Bank, in partnership with the Vineland Fireworks Company, rescued the fireworks display during Bayshore Discovery Project' s annual Delaware Bay Days festival in Bivalve, NJ after it was reported that funding for the festival was completely cut from Commercial Township' s Municipal Budget. Delaware Bay Days is a free, family-oriented festival that attracts up to 15,000 people to the township each year to celebrate the history, culture and environment of the Delaware Bayshore region. In addition to the fireworks sponsorship, Century' s support also helped underwrite other major event expenses.
As an advocate for financial literacy, Century Savings Bank sponsors an educational program, entitled ALL ABOUT BANKING, currently provided without cost to the Broad Street School in Gibbstown. The booklet introduces students to the development of money, the history of banking and the value of federal insurance on deposits. It also introduces basic money management ideas while reinforcing math and reading skills.
At its most basic level, Century' s pledge to support the social and financial health of our communities is first about caring for each other, and then working diligently to ensure our efforts make the biggest possible impact.
