How to Switch to Century Savings Bank

Step 1 - Open an account with Century Savings Bank

  • Open your new account at any one of our six convenient branch locations.
  • Be sure to record your new account number and our bank routing number – you’ll need them later!

Apply for a Century Savings Bank Debit MasterCard®.  Start making deposits to your new account.

  • Destroy checks, ATM/debit cards, and deposit slips from your old bank.
  • Let outstanding checks or automatic withdrawals clear. Make sure to leave enough money in your old account to cover them. This process may take a few weeks or more.
  • Provide your employer with your new direct deposit information. We have provided a Direct Deposit Form here for your convenience.
  • Contact anyone in addition to your employer that makes deposits into your account and provide them with your new account information. You may utilize our Direct Deposit Form for this notification as well.

If you currently receive Social Security benefits, you can sign up for/change your direct deposit by:

  • Visiting the Social Security website;
  • Calling Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778); or
  • Visit a Century Savings Bank Customer Service Representative, who can assist you in making the change electronically
  • Inform anyone that makes automatic withdrawals from your account that you have switched banks and provide them with your new account information. You may utilize our Automatic Payment Change Form to provide this notification. In addition, you may need to provide vendors with a new deposit slip or voided check. Each bank/vendor may have their own requirements for making this change.
  • Cancel any automated payment service that you may have utilized at your old financial institution. Ask us how to get started.
  • Switch charges automatically billed to your old debit card to your new account or Century Savings Bank Debit MasterCard® by contacting the company that receives the payment.

  • Once all direct deposits and automatic payments have been successfully switched to your new account and after all outstanding checks have cleared, close your old account.
  • Download an Account Closing Form.
